The "Connect" IHS Portal was at times very complicated to plan and architect the impacts of acquired systems and content. Sometimes more than 20-25+ organizations in a year needed to be implemented quickly into our platform.
The challenge was absorbing that magnitude of existing CMS content, centralizing features and retraining employees from acquired companies to use Connect as their new system and single source of truth.
Each division inside Connect had different stakeholders and owners and would request one off designs and enhancements to the global content system. This resulted in continuous meetings to negotiate patterns, features, user flows, navigation and more, so all divisions followed the same inherited patterns and behaviors.
